These Terms of Service govern your use of our products, services, and website. By engaging with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Us

Rock Garden Ceramics Limited (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") is a pottery studio based in York, England, specialising in handcrafted ceramics, pottery lessons, and custom commissions.

2. Products and Services

2.1. Handcrafted Ceramics
Each item is handmade and may vary slightly in size, colour, and texture. These variations are part of the artisanal nature of our work and are not considered defects.

2.2. Pottery Lessons

  • Participants must book lessons in advance.

  • Payments are due upon booking and are non-refundable unless cancelled at least 7 days before the session.

  • Lessons may be rescheduled with 48 hours notice, subject to availability.

2.3. Custom Commissions

  • Custom orders require an upfront payment of 50% of the total cost. By paying this deposit, you agree to these Terms of Service.

  • The remaining payment is due upon completion and before delivery.

  • Any design changes requested after production has begun may incur additional charges.

  • When you submit your commission request, we will discuss your ideas with you to create a design sample.

  • Once the sample is made and you approve it, any further changes to the design will not be accepted unless additional charges are agreed upon. Should you request changes after approval, additional charges will apply.

  • If you fail to pay the invoice for custom ceramics within the agreed timeline, you will be required to return the ceramics to us at your expense.

    • If the ceramics have been used or damaged, you will be charged according to the value of each item.

      2:4 Delays in Production

      • While we make every effort to complete commissions within the agreed timeframe, unforeseen delays (e.g. material shortages, technical issues, or other circumstances beyond our control) may occur. By paying the deposit, you accept that delays are possible and refunds will not be issued for this reason.

      2:5 Express Commissions

      • If you request an express commission (requiring the order to be completed faster than the originally agreed timeframe), an additional express charge will apply.

      • Please note that while we make every effort to complete express commissions by the desired date, delays can occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Refunds for the express charge will not be issued if the items are not completed by the requested date.

3. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are listed in GBP and include VAT where applicable.

  • Payments are accepted via [list payment methods, e.g., credit card, bank transfer, cash].

  • Full payment is required before the release or delivery of products unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, size, and destination.

  • Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary.

  • Damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence.

5. Refunds and Returns

5.1. Standard Products

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days of purchase, provided the item is unused and in its original condition.

  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective.

5.2. Custom Orders

  • Custom orders are non-refundable unless damaged upon receipt or otherwise defective.

6. Intellectual Property

All designs, images, and content are the intellectual property of Rock Garden Ceramics Limited. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our written consent.

7. Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the item purchased.

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from using our products or services.

8. Safety Disclaimer

Our pottery is food-safe unless otherwise specified. However, care instructions should be followed to avoid damage or misuse.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and take effect immediately upon publication.
