Painter & landscape artist

Calum is a landscape artist based in North Yorkshire, drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty just beyond his doorstep. His work explores trees, mountains, and natural forms through a moody, earthy palette — often using sepia tones and dark hues to capture atmosphere and raw emotion.

At his studio, Kingmaker, Calum creates evocative landscapes, refined abstract pieces, and bespoke commissions that aim to stir something in the viewer — whether you're a collector, a designer, or simply looking for a meaningful artwork to live with. His pieces are designed to transform spaces and spark connection.

Painting began as a form of therapy during his recent cancer treatment and continues to be an important part of maintaining balance and well-being — a daily practice of slowing down, observing, and responding to the world around him.

Calum’s work is available to purchase in-store only, and we’re proud to have him as our first featured artist. His large-scale pieces currently decorate the walls of Studio by Rock Garden.
